Hardwood Floor
This project began with removal of a load bearing wall separating the kitchen and dining room from the living room and den. We installed a pair of laminated beams and finished them with fresh drywall and matching paint. The carpet floor in the den was removed as was the hardwood flooring at the french door entry to the back patio. The stone hearth at the gas fireplace was stabilized and prefinished Oak hardwood flooring was laid in the room. The new hardwood was finished with hidden carpet to hardwood transitions as well as transitions from the vinyl flooring in the kitchen to the new hardwood. Shoe moulding was stained to match the new hardwood floor and installed as an additional transition. The base boards and trim were finished with a fresh coat of semi gloss paint to complete the project.
