Bathroom 27

A traditional take on a tile shower surround.  White tile with black bullnose.

This home owner was concerned about this shower because the back wall was rotting due to a water leak.  The old tile surround was removed and necessary wall repairs made.  New fiber cement backer board  was installed and waterproofed to prevent any future leaks.  The tub shower valve or faucet and drain assembly was replaced with new plumbing fixtures.  Tile was set and grouted to complete this remodel.  The existing shower enclosure and doors were removed at the start of the renovation and reinstalled when complete to keep this a budget friendly remodel.  Many bathroom remodels will include a frame less or semi-frame-less shower enclosure in either brushed nickel or oil rubbed bronze finish.  In either case the glass enclosure and door thickness should be 3/8″ thick.  All enclosures are not created equal…be sure to see what the contractor is quoting before commissioning their services.
